Gearing up for 2016

Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2016 shapes up to be a great year for all of you. I know I have some exciting things planned for this site! :D

With 2015 behind us, I thought I’d give a quick recap of my personal top 5 posts I’ve done so far.

5: Diary of a Pet

Pebblesdancing

After the fun I had with my “Diary of a Lost Soul” post on Adventures of the Spiral, I was always eager to do a similar version on this site. Doing a diary of a pet seemed very fitting, especially since we often take advantage of them and don’t realize that the things we put them through probably wouldn’t make a lot of sense in their eyes.  I’m very happy with how it turned out and I hope I maybe even convinced some people to feel bad about the way they treat their pets. ;)

4: The Art of Cheat Testing

Me and cheat testing have our ups and downs, that’s for sure! It takes a lot of work and time to be as thorough as I like to be, but I feel it’s well worth it in the end. Not only do I get the adventure of trying to puzzle things together, but I also get to share my information with the community so they can better understand the game and get through their battles safely. Sharing how I go about the process was just the icing on the cake for me.

3: Yuletide Carols

PolarisExpress

Any time I am able to let my creative juices fly is a wonderful time for me! The 12 Days of the Spiral was a perfect setup for a post series like this … I knew I couldn’t pass it up! I ended up re-working these posts a lot. I switched the tune of quite a few carols, and endlessly read them over to make sure they could be sung with the desired rhythm. All in all I had a blast trying to work these out and I hope they gave my readers a giggle!

2: Interview with #JuliaFromKI

JuliaShow

Who doesn’t love Julia?! I knew Julia had never done an interview before, so I thought it would be a great post idea. When everything ended up coming together, I was ecstatic. Nobody knows much about Julia (so mysterious!) so I enjoyed getting to know her better and allowing the community to get to know her better as well. Thanks again Julia!

1: Letters to Malistaire

YearbookPic2

By far, the post I’m most proud of is Letters to Malistaire. This post took hours upon hours to put together but the end result was amazing. One of my favorite things that I like to do is to try to see the game from a different perspective. Malistaire is always portrayed as evil, but we know that there was a time when he wasn’t. My goal was to try to bring some humanity back to Malistaire’s character, and judging by the feedback I received, I was successful.
