Today, KingsIsle announced that they put their upcoming mobile game, EverClicker, on Steam Greenlight. Should EverClicker get a Greenlight, this could open up opportunities to put Wizard101 and Pirate101 on Steam as well.
What is Steam?
Steam is a gaming “hub” so to speak. Not only does Steam offer thousands of games in its store, but it also has a large and passionate community. Steam’s convenience has made the platform increasingly popular in recent years.
What is Steam Greenlight?
Steam Greenlight is a community driven process that helps determine what new games will be put on Steam. The more “Yes” votes, comments, and interactions a Greenlight game gets, the more likely it is that Steam will want that game in their store.
Steam has an enormous community, and KingsIsle could use that to their advantage. If EverClicker gets the Greenlight, the game would be exposed to many more potential customers. On top of exposure, Steam also supplies neat features like tracking total playtime and unlocking achievements.
What If I’m Not Interested in EverClicker?
Like KingsIsle mentions in their official statement, they wanted to dive into Steam with a fairly simple game. Should things go well with EverClicker, they might add Wizard101 and Pirate101 into the mix later on. The point is, even if you’re not into mobile games, supporting EverClicker now could help Wizard101 and Pirate101 get on Steam in the future.
So help EverClicker get on Steam! Who knows what the future may hold.
